Welcome to 7-1 Math and 8-3 Science!

Hello students, parents, family, and friends!  First and foremost, please know that this website is a work-in-progress and will become more and more resourceful as the year progresses.  For now, let's just get to know each other!  Feel free to explore my website and get to know about me and more about your classes.

But First, To The Students:  I cannot wait to spend this year teaching you, learning about you, and learning FROM you.  I am fully aware that each year my students will teach me just as much as I teach you.  I may teach you about math or science, but you might teach me what's "cool" and "uncool" these days.  You might teach me how to make awesome Tik Tok videos or which IG filters are the best.  You might teach me about your life and the things you are going through.  You might teach me how to laugh during the toughest lessons.  But most of all, you WILL teach me to be a better teacher.  You will all help me, whether you realize it or not, become the best teacher I can be.

Let me learn from you as much as you learn from me.  Be the best student you can be, and I'll be the best teacher I can be.  Welcome to a new school year.  It's going to be a little different than we're used to, but it's still going to be GREAT!!

This is my 6th year teaching at Memorial and I've loved every minute of it! I love to sing, draw, cook, go to the beach, hike, watch The Office/Parks and Rec/F.R.I.E.N.D.S., and go to the dog park. If you ever take your dog to the Freedom Park dog park, there's a good chance we'll run into each other!

I have my Bachelors and Masters in education from The College of New Jersey. I've taught 7th and 8th grade math, as well as 7th and 8th grade science. I didn't have a huge interest in either subject when I was growing up, but found a new love for them when I studied STEM in college. I hope to instill a love for these subjects early on in my students!

Mrs. Mortimer and I have been teaching together for four years! We do our best to make math a fun experience!

We will primarily be using Google Classroom to push out assignments, but check back here for more updates as the school year progresses!

UPDATE: Check out the Padlet for great resources and copies of important documents:

Mr. Karwacki and I are so excited to be teaching together again this year! We’re sad that science won’t be able to be quite as “hands-on” as it normally is, but we hope all students have fun with the lab demonstrations and activities nonetheless!
