Haines Yearbook

Our final three meetings will take place on 2/28, 3/26, and 4/16 in Mr. Del Rossi's room.

The Haines Yearbook Club-Tuesdays
(year long commitment) produces the school’s annual yearbook to chronicle the major events of the school year at The Haines Sixth Grade Center. In the fall, the club will develop a plan for the yearbook, including the theme, the organization, and the cover design. From October to April, teams of students work together to plan and develop the various sections of the yearbook by creating “mock” displays of the pages.  Students will also participate as photographers while taking pictures of school life and activities.

Students working on the yearbook develop planning, organization, and teamwork skills. The club members must also apply project and staff management skills to keep the project on track to meet the printer’s deadlines. Students participating in the development of the yearbook learn to be accountable to others for completion of their assigned responsibilities.

Students also have the opportunity to develop and apply skills in photography, layout, copywriting, and copy editing. When the yearbooks are distributed at the end of the school year, those students who participated in developing it can take pride in the fact that they produced a high quality product that will remind students of their experiences and the companionships they formed at Haines for many years to come.

The Haines Yearbook Club meets on Tuesdays until 3:10 PM. Students can be picked up in front of Haines or take the late bus home (provided they have purchased a late bus pass). Meeting dates, times, and any changes will be announced on Homeroom Headlines and can also be found on the club webpage.
