Welcome to Team 7-1 Social Studies

Welcome to Team 7-1 Social Studies.  I have been teaching social studies at Memorial for over 20 years.  Educationally, I have a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from New York University (1987), a Juris Doctorate from New York University School of Law (1990), and a Master of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Pennsylvania (MSEd. 2000).  Prior to becoming a teacher, I practiced law in New York State.

Most of our work in class and at home will be done on computers.   The textbook is online as are most of your assignments.  The school supplies chrome books for every student.  You may need wired earbuds to listen to videos or reading playback.  (Please do not bring wireless headphones).  You should also bring a writing utensil to class for some paper assignments.  So to summarize, bring your fully charged chrome book, wired earbuds and something to write with each day.

All homework assignments and due dates will be in Google Classroom.   Generally, homework assignments are based on Reading and Note Taking and Vocabulary work for each chapter section of the textbook.  There may be other types of assignments.  You will be made aware of those assignments in Google Classroom.
